"Whither have gone the stately palaces of our father? Weeds and nettles grow in place of the noble pillars and frescoed walls. Silence fills the desolate hill, not even the whisper of their voices remain. Where are the gods and their goddesses, where the heros and noble kings? Not even as mould do they lie in their graves. There is nothing left."
Named for one of the four children of Manannan Mac Lir, god of the sea, cursed by their stepmother to spend nine centuries in swan form in the dangerous seas. Finally freed from this curse, the children return to the land to find their father, and all the gods of old, to be forgotten by the people who's ancestors worshiped them. A sad and painful tale of the passing of time.

-- The kiss of Fame and art for art's sake were his goal When Chromer, painter, with the world first went to cope; But now he barely pays for bread and board and coal By making lurid posters for Van Apple's soap.

I see you sized it down. The height is still on the big side. I run a resolution of 1280x1024, which is pretty large, and the pic still scrolls off. The majority of people run at 1024x768, so the image is still more than twice the height of the viewable area on their monitors. Your best bet for easy viewing for the most people is to not have your images exceed 1000 pixels high or wide, depending if the orientation is portrait or landscape. It's hard to appreciate the art if you have to do a bunch of scrolling to see the entire thing. : )
awwwr... well i supose thats true.. but you lose so much of the swans

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
