Named for one of the four children of Manannan Mac Lir, god of the sea, cursed by their stepmother to spend nine centuries in swan form in the dangerous seas. Finally freed from this curse, the children return to the land to find their father, and all the gods of old, to be forgotten by the people who's ancestors worshiped them.
